About

A`for fun' social network and web portal of and for an
ever-expanding circle of creative, eclectic "cousins"

  • Providing a casual forum for like-minded individuals to meet and share ideas and dreams, while maintaining incidental, soft-edge networking
  • Bi-monthly newsletter promoting news and events from our circle of "cousins"
  • The origin of print `media' was a stone etching, and the first gathering place for the new-world explosion of Western free thought was the public square in ancient Greece. Hence, the inspirations for our logo

OUR ORIGINS

The Greek Media Club was founded in late 2003 by Chicagoans George Bliss, Anna Davlantes, and Terry Poulos. Since, we've met more than 40 times (every other month). While most of our functions have been casual social gatherings (averaging 60 to 80 attendees), in the past few years we've hosted special exclusive events, attracting crowds from 100 and 300, at times combining with related organizations. Our exclusive events feature live entertainment and a host of local and visiting celebrities, entrepreneurs, and luminaries. In 2008, we introduced The Cousins' Letter, a fun and informative newsletter chronicling the lives and careers of our more than 500 "cousins" (growing daily!!). We also produce this website as a resource for like-minded people to connect, and on occasion channel resources to help benefit various causes, including past events in conjunction with the National Hellenic Museum, Greek Film Fest Chicago, Hellenic Foundation, and PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation
